Overland Expo West – Autographs, Supercars & Sharing Our Story on Stage

We arrived at Overland Expo West on Thursday, May 15, ready to kick off four days of pure overlanding magic. After days of travel through nine states, exploring everything from shipwrecks to Hollywood, it felt amazing to finally set up camp and just breathe.

Thursday was all about unwinding and getting camp set up. The Expo grounds were buzzing with energy as rigs rolled in from every direction. It was a chance to meet new friends, say hi to familiar faces, and prepare for the whirlwind ahead.

That night, we were in for a surprise — we woke up to ice on our tent. The high desert chill hit hard, and we definitely weren’t expecting such cold temperatures. It was one of the coldest nights of the trip, and we felt it in our bones. From that point on, we used our heater each night to keep things warm and comfortable.

Friday, the event kicked into full gear. We explored the grounds, connected with tons of vendors, and even got recognized a few times by followers — it still blows us away when people ask for autographs. One highlight was meeting Jeep Daisy. It was awesome how we both asked for photos with each other — a fun, mutual fan moment!

Saturday was jam-packed with events. We hosted a main stage seminar, joined a roundtable, and gave a DIY truck build demo. It was a blur of excitement, questions, and stories. We didn’t get to browse as many booths, but connecting with attendees and sharing our build made the day unforgettable.

Sunday we finally had time to explore the entire Expo. We made our rounds, caught up with fellow creators, and took in the innovation on display at every booth. As we started breaking down our camp, something totally unexpected happened — a trailer rolled in carrying a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (only 63 made!). Cayden was in his element, filming, snapping photos, and even getting to sit inside. He also scored seat time in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS — meanwhile, I was packing up our setup. Typical dad life!

We ended the night with everything packed and ready for a pre-dawn departure. The Expo was everything we hoped for and more — a blend of passion, community, and adventure. If you’ve never been to an Overland Expo, put it on your list. It’s not just an event; it’s a lifestyle. And this one? We’ll be talking about it for years.
