From Stress to 100K: How Vancity Adventure Turned Life Around

Growing up in Langley, BC, I was surrounded by stories of my dad exploring rivers, forests, and hidden trails. Those stories sparked a lifelong love for adventure—something I carry with me every time we hit the road across British Columbia and beyond.

But life doesn’t always go as planned.

In 2020, I faced one of the toughest challenges of my life. A former client owed me $250,000, and just as I was trying to deal with that, the world shut down due to COVID. Everything felt stuck. Stress, uncertainty, and pressure hit all at once—and I needed a way out.

So I did what felt natural.

I packed up our Ram 1500, grabbed my son Cayden, and hit the road. Our pug Tosha came along too—and sometimes my wife joins us as well. What started as a simple escape quickly turned into something much bigger.

That first trip wasn’t just about getting away—it was about resetting.

We explored hidden trails, discovered secret waterfalls, and drove endless backroads across BC. Nature became our escape, our therapy, and our way forward. Every stop became a story. Every challenge became a lesson. And every moment reminded us that family, adventure, and the outdoors matter more than the stress we carry.

What started as a break from reality turned into a new direction in life.

Over time, those trips evolved into something we never expected. We started sharing our journey, and Vancity Adventure grew into one of Canada’s fastest-growing outdoor adventure YouTube channels. Today, Cayden and I share our real-life adventures with tens of thousands of people—showing that even in the toughest times, you can rebuild, explore, and create something meaningful.

Then came a moment we’ll never forget.

On October 12, 2025, we hit 100,000 subscribers.

That number means more than just growth—it represents resilience. It’s proof that even when life throws everything at you, you can push forward, adapt, and build something bigger than you ever imagined.

And we didn’t do it alone.

Every comment, every like, every message—it all matters. The support we’ve received from this community has helped us keep going, keep exploring, and keep sharing our journey.

Vancouver may be our home base, but the heart of what we do is much bigger than that. It’s about the moments—the laughs, the struggles, the wins, and the experiences that remind us why life is meant to be lived outdoors.
